0

New Hampshire Second District congressional candidate Andy Martin will hold a news conference Monday, August 1st to defend GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump “against outrageous and unprincipled attacks by Khizr and Ghazala Khan,” as well as to caution so-called GOP “leaders” against shooting off their mouths when they have not completely analyzed the continuing left-wing attacks on Trump. Andy says that Trump was the victim of a smear campaign by the Khans, orchestrated by Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s closest associate.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Attention, New Hampshire, Washington, National daybook/assignment and Political editors

Announcement of Manchester, New Hampshire news conference Monday August 1st

New Hampshire congressional candidate Andy Martin defends Donald Trump against “unscrupulous and unprincipled” attacks by Khizr and Ghazala Khan.

Andy says Republican “leaders” are acting stupidly when they respond with attacks on Trump every time they get a call from left-wing media ginning up an anti-Trump attack

Andy says Trump’s wacky campaign approach is partly responsible for the candidate’s inability to respond coherently when the left-wing media manufacture “crises” as a pretext to attack him

(Manchester, NH) (August 1, 2016New Hampshirecongressional candidate Andy Martin will hold a news conference today, August 1st, to defend GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump and to excoriate Khizr and Ghazala Khan for injecting politics and trying to profit politically from the memory of their fallen son.

Andy says Trump has to either develop an adequate campaign team or Trump will be constantly mired in bogus crises manufactured by Hillary Clinton and her media sycophants.

“I believe the behavior of Khizr and Ghazala Khan is disgraceful,” Andy says. “I will explain why in these remarks. I also believe Donald Trump should either put together a competent campaign team to advise him or hide in a cave until Election Day. Trump is his own worst enemy when it comes to defending against bogus attacks by Hillary Clinton and her lapdogs in the media. I believe so-called ‘congressional leaders’ are doing a great disservice to themselves and their party by constantly mouthing off against Trump when there is no basis to do so.

These are the same ‘leaders’ whose failed leadership was rejected by the American people during the primary election process.

“The Trump/Khan/Clinton/media mess is a warning to Trump that if he continues to refuse to develop a competent campaign staff to advise and assist him, he will go down to defeat. It is time for Trump to stop bragging about how wealthy he is and start spending real money on a real presidential campaign.

“Nevertheless, once we peel the onion, we see that Trump was the victim of a disgraceful political hit orchestrated by Huma Abedin, a Pakistani herself, and her Pakistani cohorts the Khan Family.”

1. Captain Humayun Khan is a genuine, eternal American hero

Because the Khans and Clinton’s operatives in the media have tried to conflate matters, and created massive confusion, I am going to separate out the individual issues.

First, Mr. and Mrs. Khan have my utmost and complete sympathy and respect. They have suffered a loss that can never be remedied. I did not lose a son in war time. But I know what they are going through and they are entitled to respect, sympathy and loving consideration. I still mourn for the death of the first Fighting Illini killed in Viet-Nam, Bruce Capel, way back in 1965. I mourn for Bruce’s family. I mourn for others who died in Viet-Nam, whose names I hold in my heart. I mourn for those lost in Iraq. I saw the carnage firsthand. So my heart is unreservedly with the Khans in so far as their loss is concerned.

But the love and respect due the Khans for the loss of their son is not the issue in their attacks on Donald Trump. They have sought to exploit their status as grieving parents to become political assassins for Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton and the corrupt mainstream media that are dedicated to defeating the Republican Party.

2. Once a victim becomes an aggressor, they lose the immunity and sympathy conferred on victims

Human nature and American society work in a very simple and direct way, a fact both Mr. Trump and the Khans appear to have forgotten in their exchanges. As long as the Khans maintained their status as parents who suffered a loss, they were immune from criticism and exploitation and entitled to love and respect.

But as soon as the Khans went on national television and started making political attacks to benefit Clinton and Abedin, that immunity was lost. When the Khans stepped on the stage at the DNC and started smearing Donald Trump, who had absolutely nothing to do with the loss of their son, they voluntarily surrendered their immunity as grieving parents. At the point when they marched on the DNC stage and became willing participants in a media firestorm, they were no longer grieving parents entitled unquestioningly to respect, dignity and privacy.

Bottom line: you can’t be both a political hit man, as the Khans became at the DNC, and at the same time receive the respect, immunity and privacy due to a grieving parent.

Donald Trump had every right hit to hit back at them once the Khans launched unprovoked attacks on him.

3. Donald Trump is not ignorant about Islam, Mrs. Khan is

Although Mrs. Ghazala Khan is undoubtedly a grieving mother and entitled to respect on that basis, she is incompetent as a political operative standing up at a political convention and later trying to convert the personal loss of her son into political capital for Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton by writing an attack article for the Washington Post.

Humayun Khan was not killed by Donald Trump or any other American. Humayun was killed by radical Muslim extremists. So Mrs. Khan should have come to the GOP convention and directed her anger at Muslim extremists, not Donald Trump.

In the Washington Post Mrs. Khan accused Donald Trump of being “ignorant” (see link #1 below) about Islam. That is the Obama party line. Ghazala Khan says “terrorism is a different religion.” (same link). Maybe Mrs. Khan should call ISIS and ask why they behead people in the name of Islam, why they rape and kidnap women in the name of Islam.

Are most Muslims peaceful? Yes. Are most Christians peace loving? Yes. But there are Muslims and Christians who read religious texts in hostile and homicidal ways. Mrs. Khan seems oblivious to the reality of the past decades. So she really is embarrassing herself when she proffers her contrarian view that radical Islamic terrorism does not exist. She should not only shut her mouth, she should stop signing political tracts for the Washington Post which are obviously authored by Clinton campaign operatives.

Mrs. Khan might also reflect on a murder that took place in the name of Islam in her home country of Pakistan, the anti-Semitic kidnapping and murder of Daniel Pearl. Daniel Pearl was murdered in Pakistan by Muslim extremists because Pearl was Jewish.

Going further, what about all of the Muslim atrocities committed in Pakistan, and now in America, by Pakistanis every day? How about honor killings? How about terrorist acts? How about attacks on Christians and others in Pakistan? For Mrs. Khan to lecture Donald Trump and deny the links between terrorism and Islam or the connection between Saudi-financed madrassas and terrorism, shows Mrs. Khan is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the propaganda that is being disseminated in her name to exploit her status as a grieving parent.

I am sure Daniel Pearl’s father could share his loss with the Khans. They have both endured a tragedy. Both Daniel and Humayun were murdered by radical Islamic terrorists. By attacking Trump Mrs. Khan is nothing but a dupe of the Obama trope that Islam and terrorism exist in separate and unrelated tracks, and that only Obama is the one and true “decider” of what constitutes “true Islam.” No sane American believes Obama’s nonsense.

4. Mr. & Mrs. Khan were duped by the Clintons and the media

Mr. and Mrs. Khan are grieving parents. I grieve with them. I have losses too. My heart aches every day for those I have lost. But I don’t blame the Clintons for my losses.

Donald Trump did not kill the Khans’ son, and the Khans are obviously ignorant about radical Islamic terrorism. In fact, Mrs. Khan, who claimed she was speechless in Philadelphia, overnight became an author and authority hectoring Trump on the nonexistence of radical Islam in the Washington Post.

Unfortunately, Mrs. Khan showed she is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Obama/Clinton disinformation operation when it comes to her defense of the radical Islamic terrorists that killed her son. Mrs. Khan conveniently forgot that it was Hillary Clinton who was the mendacious public official who voted to invade Iraq, not Donald Trump.

Why didn’t the Khans attack Clinton for voting to attack Iraq, where their son died? Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 but Clinton still voted to invade that country solely to protect what she later admitted was her political viability. The Khans have a one-way mirror which only sees Republican faults, not Democratic Party ones.

But, in a broader perspective, the Khans are being victimized by the Clintons, the same way the media and the Clintons have exploited and destroyed innocent victims for decades. The Clintons used the Khans in a role for which they were neither qualified nor experienced.

Mrs. Khan ratified the suspicion that people have about Muslim women when she wrote in the Washington Post that Muslim wives speak through their husbands; she then turned around and made asinine and inaccurate claims denying the existence of radical Islamic terrorism.

The Washington Post and New York Times took the Khans and made celebrities of them. But when their celebrity fades, the Khans will come to understand how the Clintons and the media weaponized the Khans and then discarded them like used artillery shells when they were no longer necessary to advancing the Clinton/media campaign against Trump.

I don’t know what Mr. Khan does for a living. Maybe he is competent at what he does. But he and his wife will ultimately prove to be incompetent advocates for the Obama/Clinton claim that radical Islamic terrorism does not exist. Mrs. and Mrs. Khan will eventually realize they sacrificed their son’s honor on the altar of slimy and corrupt Clinton/Abedin opportunism.

5. Trump needs a competent and sufficient campaign team

A presidential campaign is not a place for on-the-job training. But Mr. Trump still does not have a campaign team in place to defend against the media and the Clinton smear machine. Trump is not going to win the campaign on Twitter. He needs to stop bragging about his wealth and success and start spending real money to build a competent media defense team.

Had Trump talked to anyone experienced in defending against Clinton/media smear attacks, he could have developed a coherent strategy and separated out the several distinct issues that were being intertwined by the Clintons, the media and the Khans. Instead, Trump just floundered around, blathering on Twitter.

The Clintons are going to be attacking Trump until November and they are masters of the smear attack. If all Trump can do is stumble around and respond on Twitter, the public is going to tire of his unwillingness to mount a serious campaign effort and he will be defeated. But he need not lose. Right now the race is his to lose. In my opinion Trump is the presumptive winner. He can only defeat himself.

He needs a sufficient team of experienced responders to advise him how to reply to Clinton/Media/Khan-style attacks. He can’t do it on his own. No one can. Either he spends the money he needs to spend, and stops bragging about how little he is spending, or the Clinton/media attack dogs will relentlessly chew on him until Election Day.

To repeat, a presidential campaign is not place for on-the-job training, and no place for a paper maché candidate who refuses to build a strong team to attack and defend against an equally strong team being fielded by the Democrats.

6. Humayun Khan would be mortified by what his parents have done

Humayun Khan is the real hero, the forgotten hero in the mess created by his parents. To be sure, they are as ill-experienced as Donald Trump, and their grief has been weaponized and exploited by the Clinton/media attack army.

But Humayun would be embarrassed by the way his parents allowed his sacrifice to be exploited for political purposes. A week ago the Khans were grieving parents. Their wonderful son had paid the ultimate sacrifice for his new country.

I never met Humayun but I know him in spirit. He loved the Army. He loved the freedom of discipline, the commitment to duty, the traditions stretching back hundreds of years. Every day our military history and our military traditions nourish the souls of the young men and young women who stand up and take an oath to defend all of us, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the Khans.

Humayun also loved his men. He trusted the political leaders who sent him into battle (including Hillary Clinton). But he would never have reneged on his commitment to the Army equivalent of Country, Corps and Commandant. Humayun’s honor will live for all eternity in military annals. That is why Arlington Cemetery is sacred ground for all of us. That is why I am so personally saddened that his parents have tried to exploit his sacrifice to use as a weapon against Donald Trump.

Humayun was a hero. His  parents were heroes before their DNC debacle. But they have undermined the love and respect we owe them by becoming political operatives for the Clinton/media attack machine. When you stand up on the stage of a national political convention and start launching political attacks, you become a political warrior and are no longer protected by the sanctity and security of sacrifice due to grieving parents.

Mr. Khan has no basis to excoriate presidential candidates on a national political and media stage, unless he wants the counterattack that comes naturally in politics when you become a bomb-thrower. Mr. Khan does not need to lecture me, or other Republicans or other Americans on sacrifice. America has sacrificed hundreds of thousands of men and women in the cause of freedom. We didn’t start either World War I or II, but we had to finish them. Americans fought and died during the Cold War for even Pakistan which was then a close ally.

Humayun Khan would be mortified that his parents chose to attack Donald Trump, a representative of the tens of millions of disenfranchised and frustrated Americans who supported Trump, instead of attacking the failed state his parents left behind in Pakistan or the Clinton/media combine that blindly marched the American people into war in 2003.

“Khizr and Ghazala Khan owe the American people an apology, and they owe their son an apology,” Andy says. “Donald Trump did not deserve to be attacked by the abuse and misuse of their Clinton-weaponized grief. Trump has every right to defend himself. As for the so-called ‘Republican leaders’ that defended the Khans instead of Trump, that is why they were totally and completely rejected by Republican voters during the primary season and why these failed leaders will be swept out of power in January, 2017. Senator McConnell and Speaker Ryan should hush their criticism of Mr. Trump and reevaluate instead why Republican voters and the American people have rejected their leadership.”
